Detailed forecast

The rain will clear away about 2pm this afternoon, allowing bright or sunny intervals late afternoon and this evening. Quite breezy though with strong southerly winds, these then easing towards dusk, the maximum temperature 12 Celsius.

Most of tonight will be dry, but a few outbreaks of rain will arrive towards the end of the night, with tomorrow then a cloudy day with further outbreaks of rain, although these should tend to be quite light and patchy. Fresh to strong southeast winds at first tomorrow, these easing later on.

Outlook

Mostly dry conditions prevailing through the second half of the week, and becoming quite warm (the highest temperatures so far this year).

Complex low is slow-moving over Ireland and the north of Britain, with frontal systems affecting the Irish Sea at times.

South or Southeast 6 or 7 at first, perhaps occasionally gale 8 over central and western parts of the area, then gradually decreasing South 5 or 6 later this afternoon and this evening. Becoming South or Southeast 4 or 5 early tonight, then later tonight increasing Southeast 5 or 6, possibly occasionally 7 in a few places.

Moderate or rough, becoming moderate early tonight.

Rain, heavy at times, before clearing this afternoon. Further rain later tonight and tomorrow morning.
