Hopes of new build houses appearing on the market in next two years

DEFA estimates 650 planning applications for new builds are on the system

It is anticipated that over the next 18 months, there'll be an increase in the amount of new build properties on the market.

Discussions held during a series of public meetings last week highlighted housing as a primary topic of concern.

The environment, food and agriculture minister reported that there are approximately 650 planning applications for new housing developments currently in the pipeline.

In the House of Keys tomorrow (30 April) Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas is expected to ask more about a detailed document assessing the Island's housing needs.
