In this nostalgic meander down Manx Memory Lane, FRANK DOWNWORTH recalls leaving school at the age of 14 in 1946 and spending the first five years of his working life on the railway at Ramsey Station. He has fond memories of the staff - and a fund of stories - some frightening, and some funny - from his time there.
Harry Kelly's thatched cottage is probably the most easily-recognised building in Cregneash village - but how many people actually knew Harry Kelly? Well, DORIS MADDRELL certainly did - and has a few tales to tell about him .... and about the holidaymaker who really needed a geography lesson ...
A lifetime lived in Glen Maye meant that ALEC QUIRK KARRAN knew everyone who lived there. In his company we meet a few of the villagers, and catch a glimpse of life - from busy working days that began with a milk round, to Sunday routine set around three visits to church and a delicious dinner.
And we end by returning to Kirk Michael and to NORMAN BARRON for the story of 'Owl' Bobby Bob' from his repertoire of Manx dialect poems by Juan Noa.
