The Isle of Man Farming Community are setting Howard and Christy a series of cooking challenges over the coming weeks. When Alder Hey Children's Hospital saved the life of little Catherine Cattle, mum and dad Emily and Rob wanted to give something back. Several months later - and teaming up with Small Boy Productions - they've released a fundraising Christmas single! Manx mums, Natassja Chadwick and Kelly Quaye, talk together about what it's like to raise young children with rare genetic disorders - Natassja on the island, and Kelly in Boston. They've come together to create an online community for patients and caregivers of rare genetic disorders on the island called 'Isle of Man RARE'. Managing a rare disorder can be lonely and isolating, but their hope is to provide comfort to others by building a supportive island-based network. On a slightly grey and damp Saturday morning in October, Beth and Christy joined a women's weekend walking group - usually a small gathering of school friends but expanded to dozens more for a special fundraiser event for Children In Need. The weather didn't dampen the spirits or the chatter! With special thanks to Cheryl Callister who set the original group up and was very welcoming indeed.
During the walk, the group had a video call with BBC's Countryfile, so keep an eye on the programme in the coming weeks in case they feature!.
