The treasury minister has announced a number of projects will get funding within this Budget.

  • £1.9 million has been allocated for the Ballasalla Bypass junction
  • A further £300,000 will be spent on additional classroom capacity at Ballasalla School to address what's described as a 'quite sudden but consistent' increase in their student role.
  • Alex Allinson says he shares the frustrations of the area's MHKs and constituents with the time it's taken to present plans for the new Castle Rushen High School. While the £3.2 million funding for the design and feasibility of the replacement is said to be 'well underway', Treasury has committed to present a fully costed capital scheme to Tynwald for approval later this financial year.
  • £2.1 million is going towards the Ballacubbon housing scheme in Colby with a further commitment of £3.1 million in 2026/27 and £111,000 in 2027/28

  • £147,000 will be spent on two changing places facilities, one of which will be located in Ronaldsway Airport.

  • Sticking with the airport, more money's going to be spent on drainage of the airfield. £2.9 million has been allocated for this financial year, £2.05 million in 2026/27 and £50,000 in 2027/28.
