On Women Today this Tuesday afternoon we talked about online safety and then how you could play your part to help the Island's theatrical talent flourish.
With the summer holidays underway, managing your children's technology use can be a minefield, but the advice from the experts who joined us was to get more involved with what they're doing. And that can mean playing the games they love.
Gráinne Burns and Julie Wilsdon say it's important to have conversations with children about what they're doing, teach them to self regulate when it comes to the amount of time they spend in front of a screen and watch out for changes in behaviour which may indicate they are experiencing things online which may not be appropriate.
There are lots of websites which offer practical advice such as Common Sense Media.
Also today, if you're looking for something to improve your social life and you have an interest in any aspect of theatre then you could join the Manx Amateur Drama Federation.
MADF Chair Clare Austin told us about the local charity which was started back in the 1940s and which is managed by a team of volunteers who give whatever time they have. It is responsible for The One Act Play Festival, The Easter Festival of Full Length Plays and the Young Actor of Mann - a competition which promotes the artistic talent of the Island's young people. We were joined by two former winners, Christian Cooper and Lois Mooney whose infectious enthusiasm show just why it's so important to have a group like MADF.
If you would like to join, you can go along to the AGM this Wednesday (July 25th) at the Empress Hotel starting at 7:30pm. (Cake bakers very welcome...)
Also on today's show we talked about modern dating, which apparently seems to involve going out for breakfast and preferably paying with vouchers. We also learnt about breadcrumbing, ghosting and haunting. Intrigued? Listen back here for the next seven days.
