Fastest lap of 2024 set by Hickman on superstock machine

Friday evening qualifying round up

This evening's (31 May) qualifying session began well, but cloud put paid to sidecar progress.

SUPERSTOCKS

Peter Hickman recorded the fastest lap of TT 2024 so far.

On the second lap of qualifying this evening (Friday), he recorded a speed of 134.638mph on his superstock bike.

It's the machine he set the outright lap record of 136.358mph on in 2023.

Average lap speeds of 132.976mph and 132.674mph meant Davey Todd and Michael Dunlop recorded the second and third fastest superstock laps of the night respectively.

SUPERTWINS

In his second lap, Michael Dunlop recorded the fastest supertwin lap of TT 2024 so far with a speed of 121.882mph.

He also recorded the second fastest speed of the evening. His first lap was 121.399mph.

Jamie Coward's speed of 120.378mph was the third fastest of the session and Peter Hickman's 119.271mph was fourth.

SUPERBIKES

Peter Hickman set the fastest superbike lap of the session, with a speed of 132.863mph.

It's slightly below the 133.942mph recorded by Davey Todd in this afternoon's qualifying session - the fastest superbike time of the week so far.

Dean Harrison's speed of 132.596mph was the second fastest of this evening's session and Michael Dunlop was the third fastest recording 132.399mph.

SUPERSPORTS

Davey Todd rode the fastest supersport lap of the night with a speed of 127.062mph.

James Hind and Michael Evans recorded the second and third fastest laps with speeds of 125.833mph and 125.358mph respectively.

SIDECARS

The sidecars only got one lap of qualifying in this evening due to cloud descending on the mountain. Yellow flags were displayed towards the end of the session.

The fastest lap of the night was recorded by Ryan and Callum Crowe with a speed of 115.682mph.
