Wagon Wheels for Classic TT

Peter Williams to be reunited with bike

The fastest single-cylinder motorcycle of the Grand Prix era of the T.T. will be back for the Lap of Honour at next month's Classic T.T..

The Arter Matchless G50 was nicknamed the "Wagon Wheels" when rider and engineer Peter Williams pioneered the use of cast-magnesium wheels.

Peter lapped at 102.74 mph in the 1973 Senior T.T. and at 70 years-old will be reunited with the bike for the Lap of Honour on Monday 29th August.

It will also be ridden by regular rider Dave Roper at the Festival of Jurby the day before.
