Rider was only released from hospital two weeks ago

TT veteran David Madsen-Mygdal has announced he has been recovering from a health scare over the last two months.

Madsen-Mygdal has been riding on the infamous course for over 40 years, but seven weeks ago he says he suffered a major ischaemic stroke.

The rider added he didn't want the news to be made public until now; but says that he is feeling better and recovering well so far.

He made his Mountain Course debut at the Manx Grand Prix in 1981 before making his TT bow four years later.

Since then, he has managed a remarkable 130 finishes and has been racing up until last year where he competed in two Supertwin class events.

He said: "It’s been fairly hard to come to terms with what’s happened.

"I thought I was fairly fit, but obviously I wasn’t.

"I was only skiing a fortnight beforehand but obviously I was doing everything that I shouldn’t have done."
