Muriel Cain represented the Island in three Island Games and two Commonwealth Games
Tributes have been paid to one of the Isle of Man's 'best ever' sporting legends.
Muriel Cain represented the Island in three Island Games and also Commonwealth Games in Canada in 1978 and Brisbane in 1982.
She died, aged 76, on 2 January at Noble's Hospital.
Her funeral is due to take place at Douglas Borough Crematorium tomorrow.
The Isle of Man Badminton Association described her as one of the Island's best ever players winning 27 badminton titles, made up of 11 singles, 11 women's doubles and five mixed doubles.
The Isle of Man Indoor Bowling Association described Muriel as a 'valued member' saying she will be missed sorely.
Last week a minute’s silence was held before the start of each league bowling match in her honour.
"Muriel Cain was a mild, gentle and modest person but also fiercely competitive with a quiet, but steely determination. She gives a lie to the frequently quoted comment that nice people win nothing" - Isle of Man Indoor Bowling Association
