Ten competitors heading to Orkney this summer
It's been announced who will represent the Isle of Man in triathlon at the 2025 Island Games.
Manx Tri Club has confirmed ten competitors will take on the events in Orkney with a four-strong female squad and six contesting the Open category.
Carly Craig, Cait Gelder, Clara Isaac and Wiktoria Maliszak will fly the Manx flag in the ladies events.
Meanwhile the Isle of Man will be represented in the Open category by Andrew Isaac, Charlie Swales, Dom Dunwell, James Wright, Nick Arden and Matt Looker.
The 2025 Island Games in Orkney are scheduled to take place from 12-18 July.
An exact date for the individual and team triathlon events hasn't yet been announced but it's already confirmed the races will be held at Stromness Harbour.
Arguably the most experienced competitor in the Isle of Man women's team will be Carly Craig who took up triathlon five years ago having previously represented to the Island at the games in the 5,000m track event.
Elsewhere, Gelder was part of the Manx triathlon team at the 2023 Island Games in Guernsey and among her achievements last year was a podium finish at the Europan Triathlon Championships in France in September.
Both Maliszak and Isaac are recent recruits into the sport having started in 2023 and 2024 respectively, the latter winning the women's race in the 2024 Isle of Man Triathlon Championships.
The open category, meanwhile, will see a welcome return for Looker who was injured in a bike crash during the last Island Games triathlon in 2023 and forced to withdraw from the remainder of the event as a result.
Andrew Isaac won last year's men's Isle of Man triathlon championships and was last involved in the games in Bermuda in 2013 where he helped the Isle of Man claim team bronze.
Swales was part of the bronze medal-winning men's team in Guernsey just under two years ago; for Wright, it was 2019 in Gibraltar the last time he donned the Manx jersey in the sport.
There will also be two Island games debuts in the Open category in the form of Dunwell and Arden.
