Town gain revenge

Castletown extended their lead at the top of CFS Division Two on Saturday.

And it was a revenge mission against the side who inflicted a shock opening day defeat.

Town’s 2-1 reverse to Ramsey Youth Centre remains their only loss so far this campaign but they made amends with a 5-2 win up north.

Alex Crawley, Jack Charmer, Tony Duggan, Brett Alcotte and an own goal gave Town the points.

Malew produced a super performance to push Pulrose all the way before the promotion challengers won a goal-fest.

Played at Castletown, two goals each from Jay Wood and Mark Walmlsey and one apiece for Barry English and David Priestnal sealed a 6-5 win.

Lewis Jenkins hit a hat-trick and Paul Witley netted twice for Malew.

Kenny Maguire (two), Paul Bratty and Jeremy Lovett were on target as Marown edged a seven goal thriller at Douglas Royal.

Craig Duncan notched a double for Royal and Brian Jago was their other scorer in an exciting contest at Noble’s Park.

There were also goals galore at Onchan as they edged out Ronaldsway 5-4.

Rob Burns (two), Gareth Boorman, Mike Spencer and Luke Sutherland earned the home side the points against the spirited Rockets, for whom Tony Rodgers (two), Dwayne Dawson and Kevin Murphy found the net.

Youngster Jamie Johnson and experienced campaigner Michael Shimmin (two) fired Braddan to a 3-1 home success over the Police, whose goal was scored by Chris Moore, while a Mark Kinley double and a William Woods goal gave Foxdale a 3-0 victory at Northern Athletic.
