New Zealander joins Milenco by Padgett's for 1000cc classes
Multiple New Zealand Superbike and Formula One Superbike champion Mitch Rees will make his Isle of Man TT Races debut this year.
The 32-year-old will ride Milenco by Padgett's Motorcycles' Honda Fireblade machinery in the Senior, Superbike and Superstock classes on the Snaefell Mountain Course.
He will also contest next month's North West 200 and the opening round of the National Superstock Championship as part of his preparations.
On his objectives in his maiden TT appearance, Rees says he's prioritising learning the course and enjoying the experience.
He says: "I’ve always enjoyed riding on the roads back home and so the TT has always been on my radar...
"...The main goal for 2025 is to be safe, learn the course and enjoy it. And with the Padgetts boys, I couldn’t ask to be with a better team.
"Clive and his crew are so well known, and so successful. and if you’re going to do something, it’s best to do the job properly."
After success in his younger years in motocross, Rees moved into road racing at the age of 21.
He now boasts four NZ Formula One Superbike titles.
He's already faced a number of TT competitors away from the Island previously, coming up against the likes of Peter Hickman, Davey Todd and Lee Johnston at Wanganui in New Zealand where Rees has already recorded 12 victories on the Cemetery Circuit.
