Eight players to compete in Leeds over the next week

The Isle of Man Billiards & Snooker Association has confirmed it's men's and masters teams to compete in this year's Home International Snooker competition in England.

Four players make up the two squads which will be led by team manager, Ken Kinrade, to compete at the event being held at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds from tomorrow until next Friday (4-11 August).

In the men's side, six-time Isle of Man champion Darryl Hill is joined by Dollin Mercer, Marek Kenny and Peter Crellin.

Their opener tomorrow will be up against Scotland followed by matches against England B and Wales A in the following two days - the knockout stages will then follow.

Meanwhile, the masters team - for players aged 40 and over - is made up of Chris Dagnall, Peter Kirkham, Paul Smyth and Tony Cubbon.

They'll take on Wales B, Northern Ireland A and Republic of Ireland B in the round robin stage of the tournament.

Also travelling with the squad will be referee, Dave Kelly, who had the chance to officiate the men's final of last year's competition.
