Organisers say it will be Manx Missile's last race
The final race of Sir Mark Cavendish's glittering cycling career could take place in Singapore next month.
Organisers of the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium - which will be held on 9-10 November - say the meeting 'is set to be the last race for sprint legend Mark Cavendish.'
The 39-year-old has contested the event for the last two years and finished runner-up in 2023.
He is one of four riders who will represent Astana Qazaqstan alongside Nicolas Vinokourov, Davide Ballerini and Gleb Syritsa.
Several other major names in road racing are also scheduled to take part including Jasper Philipsen, Primoz Roglic and Biniam Girmay.
Should this be Cavendish's final race, it will come just over four months after he made history with an unprecedented 35th stage win at the Tour de France on 3 July.
Last week, the 'Manx Missile' received his knighthood from HRH Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle.
It comes after he was made a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours list for 'his outstanding contribution to the sport of cycling, his on-Island and off-Island charity work and as a sporting ambassador for the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.'
