Defending Premier League Champions Rushen have made a dreadful start to their title defence. After Saturday's 6-1 thrashing at St. Mary's, they let in another five at home to St. George's without reply. Geordies scorers were Chris Bass with a hat-trick, Ciaran McNulty and Sam Caine. Rushen have already lost more league games than last season and are second bottom with only Gymns below them - they have conceded 11 and only let 17 in last term. St. George's are third in the league on goal difference with maximum points.
St. Mary's, not fancied in the pre-season forecasts, are the early pace-setters after another 6-1 win - this time at Tromode against struggling Gymns. Steven Priestnal bagged another four goals to make it eight in two games with Martin Reilly on target twice.
Peel are second in the table after their best start to a campaign for many years. After a goalless first half at Castletown, strikes from Chris Cain and Terry Rigaux ensured another three points for the westerners with a 2-1 victory at The Stadium.
Relegation favourites Ayre are defying the so-called experts after making it two wins from two games to sit fourth in the table. They beat fierce northern rivals Ramsey 3-2 at Ballacloan Stadium
Laxey remain unbeaten and gained their first win of the season with a 4-1 success at Michael United. Ashley Webster scored two with Fraser Vaughan and Alan Harrison getting the others.
Old Boys have their first points after a 5-2 victory over Douglas Royal at Blackberry Lane. Craig Stewart and Gary Quirk grabbed two apiece with Callum Stewart the other to find the back of the net.
