Rally competitor raising funds for Hospice IoM at UK event

Ian Tunney one of several Manx competitors preparing for 1,200-mile race

A local rally driver is raising funds for an Island cause as he prepares to take part in a long-distance race in the UK this week.

Ian Tunney is one of numerous Manx competitors and crew members preparing to take on the 1,200-mile Roger Albert Clark Rally which will be held from Thursday to next Monday (23-27 November).

Along with aim of finishing the rally, Ian is also fundraising for Hospice IoM and has already surpassed the donation target of £1,200.

On his JustGiving page, Mr Tunney describes how he was diagnosed with cancer of the thyroid in 2020, and that after two operations and radiation treatment he was given the all-clear.

Furthermore, he goes on to describe Hospice as 'an important cause to me', adding the work the organisation does to support those affected by cancer is 'invaluable'.

Meanwhile, Manx Auto Sport is sending its best wishes to all the Isle of Man crews planning to contest the race.
