Peel edge seven goal thriller

Peel edged a seven goal thriller to book their place in the first round of the Paddy Power FA Cup.

Two goals from Daniel Hawke, a Daniel Bell penalty and one from Lee Gale sealed a 4-3 victory over Laxey at the Bowl.

Michael Fernandez , Lee Cowley and an own goal kept the Miners in it but the westerners emerged victorious in the long awaited tie of the round.

In the other preliminary round tie, St George’s netted six goals in each half to see off Ramsey Youth Centre 12-1.

Ciaran McNulty (three),  Callum Morrisey (two),  Frank Jones, Conor Doyle, Tom Weir, skipper Sean Quaye, Sam Caine, Ryan Gartland, plus an own goal, were responsible for a 12-1 success.

Ollie Blakely notched the home side’s consolation.

In a first round tie, Corinthians had too much for Division Two promotion hopefuls Colby.

Despite taking a surprise lead, the top flight side had too much for their opponents once they equalised after half an hour through Tony Edgar.

From that moment, Corinthians took control with a Chris Cannell double and a Blane Slattery hat-trick sealing a 6-1 home win.
