High winds threaten safety of people
The Isle of Man Mountain Ultra which started from Market Square in Ramsey earlier this morning has been abandoned.
The decision to call off the race over the Island's peaks to Port Erin was made by the Civil Defence on safety grounds.
High winds in the hills made it hard for people to even stand and the cloud base has also lowered.
Officials will decide if the event can take place tomorrow - an announcement is expected later.
