Kneale and Byrne lead the way

Bacchas A launched the defence of their Mixed Hockey crown in style on Saturday.

They demolished Phoenix A 9-0 in the newly formed Premier League with Dave Kneale the star of the show with five goals.

Glen Bloxham-Mundy hit a hat-trick and Andy Whiting netted the other in the rout.

Two games in and Falcons issued out another emphatic warning by thrashing Valkyrs A 8-2.

Again there was a five goal hero in Conor Byrne with Karen Faragher, Dave Millward and Simon Harding getting the others.

Andrea Kneen and Gareth Morris found the net for a presumably shell-shocked Valkyrs.

Olly Webster netted a treble and Sarah Breen scored the other as Ramsey A opened their campaign with a fine 4-1 win over Bacchas B, for whom Tom Wilson scored.
