Peter Kennaugh is out of the Great Britain team for Sunday's World Cycling Road Race Championship in Denmark.
An injury forced him to withdraw from last week's Tour of Britain and he hasn't been able to train enough ahead of this weekend.
The Isle of Man was due to provide a quarter of the GB team of eight - the other rider is Manx Missile Mark Cavendish.
Cav is expected to be amongst the hot favourites over a flat course but will have to do so without without his good friend.
Peter Kennaugh Senior explains the problem his son has experienced in the lead-up:-
Triathlon: Trials to be held for 2027 Island Games squad
Shooting: Bellhouse impresses during wintry league round
Football: Union Mills seeking more players for women's team
Golf: 'Amazing' to earn full Ladies European Tour card, says Dawson
