Yorkshire man joins Yorkshire team
Yorkshire racer Joey Thompson will be returning to the TT this year with a new team.
Thompson, who will be making his sixth appearance on the Mountain Course, will join Team Talk of the Town York Suzuki by Motul Oils.
The 27-year-old made his debut in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength since; in 2024 he set a new personal best lap of 125.415mph.
The Yorkshireman is hoping for more this year and said: "I don’t like putting numbers on it but I’d like to add a couple of mph to my speeds and if we can get into the 127mph bracket I’ll be happy.
"I’m delighted to have joined Team York Suzuki and am really looking forward to riding their Suzuki GSX-R1000 at this year’s TT."
Team owner Kev Pearson added he is delighted to have a Yorkshire rider for the Yorkshire based team.
He said: “There’s never been a rider of the level required but with Joey we now have our man.
"He’s very accomplished, very focused, experienced and with results to boot."
Thompson will ride a Suzuki for the Superbike, Senior and Superstock races, and will also line-up for two Supersport races on his own Yamaha.
