The duo dominated Friday evening’s tests in their Ford Fiesta
After a very close opening daytime loop of stages on the Proflex Manx Rally, Donegal driver Garry Jennings and Rory Kennedy dominated Friday evening’s tests to move into a 51.3 second lead in their Ford Fiesta.
Five times event winners Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke hold second place in a Toyota Yaris.
The Welsh crew struggled with light issues in the dark stages that ended Friday’s action, and are just 3.2 seconds ahead of Jersey Driver Sam Touzel and Max Freeman, who were the early leaders of the event on Friday morning in another Ford Fiesta.
In a very close battle for the podium places, Blackpool’s Neil Roskell and the leading local competitor, Kirk Michael’s Rob Fagg, sit fourth, just half a second down on Touzel.
The leading all-local crew are Steve Colley/Joe Dooley, holding 19th place overnight, with Maxx Bradshaw/Liam Whiteley 20th, both crews in Mitsubishi Evo 9’s.
The rally resumes at 9.15am this morning (12 April) with eight stages to be held across the north of the island, with leading crews due at the finish at the TT Grandstand just before 3.30pm.
