Jamie Coward confident over KTS Racing BMW move

Ride and team made manufacturer switch during winter

TT competitor Jamie Coward says he's feeling positive about he and KTS Racing's switch to BMW power for this year's Isle of Man TT Races.

Having run Honda power in the 1000cc classes in the last two year, the Yorkshireman and KTS Racing powered by Stanley Stewart outfit moved to the German manufacturer over the winter period.

What's more the BMW M1000RR Coward will have at his disposal will be the FHO Racing one previously piloted by Josh Brookes at last year's meeting on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

Whilst he's admitted weather has disrupted his recent pre-season testing schedule he's currently lapping faster than before.

Coward says: "The bike’s fast but a lot easier to ride than my previous bikes although experimenting with the split throttle bodies bamboozled me a bit!

“The whole bike suits me a lot better though. The BMW’s quite a big bike but for a bigger rider like me that’s ideal...

"...I’ve been bettering my previous best lap times at all the circuits and that’s really good for the confidence."

Last year, Coward only narrowly missed out on a podium finish twice, finishing fourth in both the Supertwin TT Race 1 and Supersport TT Race 2.

Whilst he managed seventh in the Superbike TT he would end up being a non-starter for the Senior race.
