Out-of-sorts Ravens seeking uplift in Lancashire

FC Isle of Man face a tough test to return to winning ways when they travel to take on in-form Padiham in the NWCFL Premier Division this weekend.

A recent barren run of results for 'The Ravens' means they've managed just one win in nearly two months and sit four points outside the promotion play-off places.

On Saturday they face a Padiham side currently on a run of six consecutive victories in the league and now one point above the Island outfit in the standings.

This will be the first time in two weeks FC Isle of Man have taken to the field after their away fixture last weekend (11 January) at Bury was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Both sides met at The Bowl in the reverse fixture this campaign on 12 October, 2024 where goals from Luke Booth and Jacob Crook cancelled out an own goal to hand the Manx team a 2-1 win.

The overall head-to-head record so far is very closely-matched between the two - Padiham have beaten FC Isle of Man twice whilst the Islanders have earned three victories over 'The Storks.'

Both have netted passed each other six times in total with one clean sheet apiece.

Three points for 'The Ravens' this weekend could take them back to within one point of the promotion play-off spots depending on results elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Padiham's recent good run means they're just three points off the play-offs with between three and five games in hand on the four teams around them.

Padiham vs FC Isle of Man takes place this Saturday (18 January) at the Ruby Civil Arena, kicking-off at 3pm.
