Hockey: Two Island players called up to Scotland youth squads

Joe Savage and Angus Mo into junior development teams

Two former Isle of Man hockey players have been called up to two Scotland junior national squads.

Joe Savage and Angus Mo have been selected to represent the Scottish Under-18 and Under-16 junior development teams respectively.

Both competitors started out in the Manx game with Mo having previously turned out for Ramsey and Savage having played for Castletown.

The Manx Hockey Association says it's 'very pleasing to see both players go on to develop their talents at a national level.'

Mo became part of the Scottish Hockey Aspiring Lightning Squad in 2023 which has resulted in him being selected for the 24/25 cycle of the Emerging Squad Under-18's.

Elsewhere Savage captained the Isle of Man Under-16 Boys to England Hockey Plate Final success and also went on to make multiple appearances in the Isle of Man senior men's setup.

He joins the 24/25 Scottish Hockey Under-18's program with hopes to compete at the European Hockey Under-18 Championships in summer 2025.
