Hockey: Opening Men's & Ladies cup draws made for 2025

Opening ties announced ahead of opening league weekend

The Isle of Man's senior hockey sides now know how and where there cup campaigns will begin this year.

Ahead of the opening weekend of the 2025 Men's and Ladies season this Saturday (11 January) the draws for the opening rounds of six cup competitions were confirmed on Manx Radio on Saturday, 4 January.

This year will once again see three competitions - the Cup, Plate and Bowl tournaments - held across both the male and female divisions.

Opening ties will take place on Saturday, 25 January.

Among the fixtures there will be a southern derby as Castletown B and Castletown C face off in the Ladies Plate.

In the Ladies Cup, last year's runners-up Bacchas A take on Ramsey A whilst Vikings A face Harlequins A - defending champions Castletown A are one of two teams along with Valkyrs A with a bye into the next round.

Elsewhere, the 2024 Men's Cup winners and runners-up - Bacchas A and Vikings A respectively - have a bye into the next round with four other sides to meet in the first phase.

There's just one first round showdown in the Men's Plate where Bacchas B take on 2024 finalists Castletown B.
