Hockey: Manx senior teams back in EH Championship action

Men's & ladies squads take on latest rounds of Tier 3 competitions

Two of the Isle of Man's senior national hockey sides return to action in the England Hockey Knockout Championships this weekend.

The senior men's and women's B teams take to the field tomorrow (15 February) for their latest fixtures in the Men's EH Tier 3 Plate and Women's EH Tier 3 Plate tournaments respectively.

For the women's squad it's a rare home tie in EH competitions as they welcome Northallerton 1sts to the NSC in Douglas, getting underway at 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, the men's team are on the road at Garstang 1sts with push-back at the later time of 3.30pm.

Back in October 2024, the ladies squad began the campaign in the EH TIer 3 KO Championship with a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool Sefton 2nds.

That saw them drop into the Plate competition - for their first tie on 14 December 2024 they were awarded a home walkover against Sheffield 2nds.

The men's B team have had a similar journey having been knockout of the Men's EH Tier 3 KO Championship in December last year in a 2-1 penalty shootout defeat against West Bridgford 2nds after a 1-1 draw in regular time.

For this weekend, the Isle of Man Women's B squad is 16-strong whilst 15 players make up the travelling Men's B.
