Report by Ben Cunningham:

After a thrilling mixed hockey league campaign where almost all the leagues went down to the final day of the season, we now begin with the Men's and Ladies leagues as well as the hotly-contested U15’s league continuing.

In the Ladies Premier League, Vikings A face Castletown A in a match that could go either way, the southerners have took the game to Vikings the last few times these two sides have met.

Elsewhere Bacchas A begin their campaign when they meet Harlequins A which I think will be close between the two sides; finally, Ramsey A who are back into the premier league after getting promoted play Valkyrs A who will be no easy pushover but will be a good test for the northerners.

In the Men's Premier League, Bacchas A will be hoping they can get off to a winning start when they play Harlequins A who had a good campaign last year in the top flight.

There's a western derby for Valkyrs A when they face Valkyrs B who got promoted last year; finally, Vikings A - who will be definitely looking at going for the title - meet Castletown A who we know can cause a few surprises against the big teams.

In Ladies Division One, Valkyrs B play Bacchas B in a battle of the B teams both teams will want to get the win from this game.

There is a southern derby between Castletown D who were promoted last season and Castletown B... which team will come out on top though? Elsewhere, Castletown C will play Vikings B who will definitely be wanting to get the promotion come the end of the season.

In Men's Division One, Ramsey A begin their season by welcoming Vikings B up north in a match that looks to be very closely matched.

Bacchas C who have been promoted last season meet Castletown B... how will Bacchas C fair in this league? Finally, Harlequins B have a tough start when they play Bacchas B who will be definitely looking at trying to get their hands on the promotion come the end of the campaign.

In Ladies Division Two, Harlequins B will hope they can kick off their season the way they finished the last on good form when they play Bacchas C.

It’s an early start for Ramsey B and Valkyrs C as they meet in the north at the new early push back time for this season of 9:35am in Ramsey; Castletown E will also be hoping they can start this season like they did last year when they play Vikings C who will be pushing for a winning start.

In Men's Division Two, a close match looks set to be on the cards as Bacchas Colts meet Valkyrs C,  when these two sides met last season both games were close result; Elsewhere, Vikings C play Castletown C at the new late push back time at KWC of 5pm.

Finally in the Mixed Under-15’s League - which I’m sure we are all hoping is going to be just as thrilling as it was before the Christmas break - Ramsey Rogues and Rascals play Bacchas; Valkyrs meet Harlequins and Vikings A face Castletown Sabres.
