Riders and co-owners split from FHO Racing earlier this month
TT stars Peter Hickman and Davey Todd have launched their new 8TEN Racing team ahead of its Isle of Man TT Races debut later this year.
The riders have been confirmed as co-owners of the team which will receive BMW support for the road racing and British Superbike Championship (BSB) seasons.
Named after Todd and Hickman's TT start numbers, the team's road racing calendar currently includes the Isle of Man TT and North West 200 in 2025.
2024 Senior TT winner Todd says: "I’m really looking forward to this new chapter of my career, riding and co-owning 8TEN Racing.
"This structure will be a new dynamic to learn, but I’ve seen it work across other motorcycle championships like Supercross.
"I’m excited to be more involved in the dealings of the team, as well as build on the success I had with BMW last year which ended with a National title and TT victories."
Earlier this month both riders split from FHO Racing following what BMW Motorrad UK described as a 'restructure' of its motorsport lineup.
Meanwhile, Hickman adds: "The opportunity provided by BMW Motorrad UK to co-own and run 8TEN Racing alongside Davey is an exciting concept, and having run my own team across other classes, the insight and experience I have gained over the last few years should put us in good stead to be competitive.
We know the M 1000 RR very well which will allow some continuity, we’ll be looking to continue our success on the roads, and relish the challenge of being competitive in the British Superbike Championship."
8TEN Racing's debut is expected to be during the BSB official tests in April will the opening round of this year's championship taking place from 3-5 May at Oulton Park.
Elsewhere, they'll the contest the Superbike, Superstock and Senior Races at the Isle of Man TT Races from 26 May-7 June.
