Gran Fondo Isle of Man to return in 2024

Entries open 1 January

Gran Fondo Isle of Man is set to return next year (2024).

The 9th edition of the event is scheduled to take place on the 27 and 28 of July.

It makes up part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, which gives amateur riders the chance to compete in their age category in qualification events staged globally.

Riders who qualify can then go onto represent their country in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Championships which take place in Aalborg, Denmark in August 2024.

Gran Fondo Isle of Man is the final qualification event in 2024 and the only one set to be staged in the British Isles.

As well as the main 137km closed roads Gran Fondo and Individual Time Trial events, the supporting events will also return as part of the overall weekend schedule.

In a change to previous years, the 72km Medio Fondo will now become the UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualification race for all men's over 60 categories and women's categories over 50.

Meanwhile, the beginner-friendly Piccolo Fondo will once again take in a 32km route around the Island’s mostly flat northern lanes, with Saturday’s Minisculo Fondo making a return around the 1km closed roads Mooragh Park course.

Entries for Gran Fondo Isle of Man open on 1 January.
