Duo win championship race as Crowe brothers smash lap record
Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley have described it as 'amazing' to retain the sidecar championship title at this year's Southern 100.
The 2019 champions had their work cut out for most of the Daryl Blake Construction Sidecar Championship Race yesterday afternoon (14 July).
One of their challengers, Ryan and Callum Crowe, smashed the outright lap record in the class around Billown at 102.398mph before having to retire during the contest.
As a result, Founds and Walmsley were able to pull clear of Tim Reeves and Kevin Rousseau in second with Conrad Harrison and Andrew Winkle taking third.
