Northern side beat Rushen to secure league & cup double

Ramsey's combination side have won this year's Ascot Hotel Junior Cup.

In sunny conditions for the final showdown in the competition at The Bowl this afternoon (18 May), the northern side claimed the trophy with a 4-1 win over Rushen United.

It secures a league and cup double for the side after they were crowned Canada Life Combination One league winners in late April.

Ramsey opened the scoring on 19 minutes through Alfy Scott but their lead lasted just ten minutes as Steve Harris struck back for Rushen United to level things.

With nothing separated the sides come the break, Ramsey made a blistering start to the second period as Connor Bloomer put Ramsey back in front on 47 minutes.

With that slender advantage going into the closing stages, Ramsey extended their advantage in the 90th minute with Ryan Kinrade converting from the penalty spot before the result was put beyond doubt as they added a fourth deep in second-half stoppage time through Firat Aygun.
