Football: Marown on the brink of premier league relegation

Crosby side needing victory to keep faint survival hopes alive (Fixtures: 1-2 Mar)

Marown could be officially relegated from the Canada Life Men's Premier League this weekend with the latest round of domestic matches imminent.

The Crosby-based side have a maximum of 12 points to play for from their four remaining games and currently trail Onchan just outside the relegation zone by 12 points who have a significantly better goal difference.

In a crucial battle at the bottom, St George's visit Marown with the Douglas visitors currently one point from safety.

At the other end, Peel - who have a four-point lead at the top and with a game in hand on their nearest challengers - could face a tricky task away at in-form St Mary's in Saturday's early kick-off.

Second-placed Corinthians, meanwhile - after back-to-back defeats - will be hoping to return to winning ways but will be hosted by a Rushen United side unbeaten in six, winning five of those.

In Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, with league leaders Braddan on a rest week there are several sides who'll be looking to at least temporarily close down their dominance at the summit.

Their nearest competitors currently are Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.) six points back and having played a game more - they host Malew tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) in third will be hoping to stay in the promotion hunt away at winless Douglas & District.
