It'll be first final for southern side in nearly 20 years

Malew and Corinthians will contest this week's Canada Life Women's FA Cup final.

Both sides emerged victorious in their respective semi-final contests which took place on Sunday, 9 March.

Southerners Malew were involved in an eight-goal thriller against Onchan where they emerged 5-3 winners on home soil to reach their first cup final in nearly 20 years.

Meanwhile, Corinthians came out with a clinical 3-0 victory during a seismic encounter with the competition's defending champions, Peel at Ballafletcher.

During an entertaining encounter at Clagh Vane, Rosabel Cardy was star of the show for Malew as she netted a hat-trick on the way to an eventual win.

Ashleigh Lachenicht and Chloe Swales were also on target for Malew whilst Onchan's goals came courtesy of a brace from Poppy Gerrard and a Courtney Goldsmith strike.

It means Malew will make their first major cup final appearance since the 2005-06 season.

Elsewhere - in a meeting of two of the current heavyweights of women's football on Island - Corinthians avenged defeat to Peel in the Canada Life Women's Floodlit Cup Final last month to beat the westerners at Ballafletcher.

The Douglas-based hosts - who're seven-time winners of the competition to date - led by just one goal at the break but found two more in the second period with Millie Dawson finding the net twice and Holly Sumner also adding to the tally.

The 2025 Women's FA Cup Final will take place this Sunday (16 March) at The Bowl in Douglas, kicking-off at 2.45pm.
