Marown get first league result since November against Foxdale
Three days after lifting this year's Ecap FA Cup, Ayre United produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat premier league champions-elect Peel 3-2 during last night's (22 April) latest Isle of Man football fixtures.
Peel led in the first half through goals from Paul Whitehead and Tomas Brown before second-half strikes from Jonny Shields and Declan Cummins leveled the contest.
Chris Duggan then converted from the penalty spot to hand the northerners all three points.
Elsewhere, Marown earned their first points in the league since November 2024 as they battled to a 3-3 draw with Foxdale in a match that had a last-minute change of venue to Foxdale's home of Billy Goat Park due to Marown's surface being deemed unplayable.
The other premier league tie of the evening saw Rushen United move into the top five with a comprehensive 3-0 win at St John's United.
One tie also took place in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 on Tuesday night with Douglas Royal and Pulrose United playing out a 1-1 draw.
The other scheduled fixture - between Malew and Division 2 champions and newly-crowned Woods Cup winners Braddan - was awarded as an away walkover to the latter.
Matches are continuing this evening (23 April) with six ties planned across the combination divisions.
Onchan will be crowned Combination One champions with a game to spare should they win at St John's United later.
The draw has also been confirmed for the quarter-finals of this year's Cowell Cup competition for Under-21 sides which will be played on Thursday (24 April).
