Football: Ecap FA Cup & Woods Cup semi-finals await

Eight teams one step away from a shot at silverware (Fixtures: 22-23 Mar)

Eight teams are now just one step away from one of two cup finals in Manx football as the semi-finals of a duo of competitions take place this weekend.

The latest gameweek on Island will see the last-four phases of both the Ecap FA Cup and GH Corlett Woods Cup take place as part of tomorrow's fixtures (22 March).

In the Ecap FA Cup, defending champions Rushen United will host Foxdale whilst Union Mills welcome last season's finalists Ayre United.

Elsewhere in the GH Corlett Woods Cup, Braddan - who secured promotion back to the Canada Life Men's Premier League last weekend - face fellow promotion candidates Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) at Blackberry Lane.

The other semi-final affair in that competition pits Douglas Royal up against high-flying Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.)

Among the selection of league fixtures on Saturday in the Canada Life Men's Premier League St George's head to Ramsey knowing they remain four points from safety.

The team just above St George's - Onchan face a daunting trip to current premier league leaders Peel who are three points clear at the summit with a game in hand on second-placed Corinthians.

Just the two ties are penned in for Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 on Saturday - there's a southern derby as Colby host Malew whilst Governors Athletic take on Castletown.

Meanwhile on Sunday (23 March) the newly-crowned Women's FA Cup champions Corinthians are back in league action up against Onchan.

This year's FA Cup finalists Malew are involved in the other women's league contest against Douglas Royal.
