Football: Corinthians look to join Peel at top of Premier League

Braddan hoping to maintain Division 2 control (Fixtures: 15 Feb)

Corinthians have the chance to draw level on points with Peel at the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League as Isle of Man football action returns this weekend.

With current top-flight table-toppers Peel on a rest week, Corinthians could match the westerners' current haul of 40 points should they claim victory away at Union Mills tomorrow.

Elsewhere, defending champions Ayre United will be looking to keep tabs with top two when they travel to St Mary's in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Whilst they sit six points adrift of Corinthians in second, Ayre United still have a game in hand having only played 16 to this point.

There's also a potentially pivotal battle at the foot of the standings as second-from-bottom Onchan host bottom side Marown.

Onchan - in the relegation zone and currently two points from safety - face a Marown team languishing at the bottom of the table with just three points to their name.

Meanwhile, Braddan will be looking to maintain their place in the driving seat at the top of Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2.

Six points clear at the top, they travel to Michael United whilst just four points separates Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) in second down to Castletown in fifth.

Outside of this weekend's league fixtures, there's a rearranged Ecap FA Cup First Round tie at 1.45pm tomorrow.

Postponed from seven days previous, Division 2 Governors Athletic take on Premier League outfit Foxdale.
