Peel extend premier league advantage as Ayre suffer first league loss (Results: 11 Jan)

Braddan have taken a potentially big step towards the Division 2 title following a 6-3 victory over title rivals Douglas High School Old Boys during today's Isle of Man football fixtures.

'The Swans' put a close-fought contest beyond doubt with two second-half stoppage time strikes shortly after 'Old Boys' had seen two players sent off.

Elsewhere, Peel have extended their lead at the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League following a 3-0 home win over St George's.

That result came as top-flight defending champions Ayre United suffered their first league defeat of the campaign with a 4-3 loss at Corinthians.

Meanwhile, postponements meant none of the top three in Canada Life Combination One were in action today as leaders Onchan's game at home to Union Mills was called off.

Also postponed due to an unfit pitch was the meeting of defending champions Ramsey and second-placed Rushen United.
