Fell runners gearing up for James Coulson Laxey Race

Route shortened due to shorter daylight times

Manx fell runners are gearing up for another important occasion in the calendar.

The eighth round of the Manx Fell Running League takes place this Friday (30 July) with the James Coulson Laxey Race up at Glen Ruy Farm.

It's due to start at 7pm on the day with registration starting from 6pm.

Those taking part must be 18 or over and competitors will have to carry full safety gear.

The race was originally due to be held in April but was postponed due to the last Covid-19 lockdown.

Race organisers have also confirmed the course distance has been shortened from 13km to around 10.42km to allow all runners to finish before light fades.

The changes can be viewed via the link HERE.

A shorter course of around 5km will also be available to runners aged 12 and above.

Officials say safety gear will be the same as the full course but the route is fully flagged so there won't be a need to carry a map or compass.
