Ravens targeting league double over this evening's hosts
After a narrow defeat last weekend, FC Isle of Man will be hoping to bounce back as they head off-Island once more tonight (9 October) in the NWCFL Premier Division.
'The Ravens' latest test is a trip to Cheadle Town who the Manx side beat at home in the reverse fixture between the two just under a month ago.
But FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones says their opponents will bring a number of qualities to tonight's game and can't be taken for granted.
As it stands the Island squad remain in promotion play-off spot contention, however Mr Jones says league position isn't something they're paying too much attention to:
Having dropped just outside the promotion play-off spots to seventh with that narrow loss at home to Ramsbottom United last Saturday (5 October), Paul Jones' side have the opportunity leapfrog straight back up into fifth with victory tonight.
What's more, their home victory against their latest opponents 14 September is one of only two times FC Isle of Man have kept a clean sheet so far this campaign.
Meanwhile, Jake Davies' Cheadle Town sit 17th in the standings after 16 games and eight points behind their Island visitors at this stage.
Goals have been tough to come by recently for the home side - they've netted 15 times so far in the league, only 21st-placed South Liverpool and bottom-of-the-table Colne have scored fewer.
However, they do boast a relatively strong defensive record conceding 22 times so far with only six other teams in the division having an equal or better record in that department.
Cheadle Town vs FC Isle of Man kicks-off tonight at The Ground Up Solutions Stadium at 7.45pm.
