Ravens seeking positive finale after tough 2025

FC Isle of Man's latest NWCFL Premier Division season comes to an end today as they host West Didsbury & Chorlton this weekend.

'The Ravens' have been on a torrid run which has seen them win just twice this calendar year whilst their opponents are preparing to contest the promotion play-offs in the coming weeks.

Having found out earlier this week his job is secure for next season, FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones thinks any result on Saturday night (19 April) could have a positive effect on the players and supporters.

However, he accepts a good outcome will be tough against a visiting side in flying form:

Despite a desperate run of ten games without a win and three straight home defeats, FC Isle of Man confirmed Jones will remain in post after a 'full and frank review' of the 2024/25 campaign.

Heading into this final match of the current season, FC Isle of Man sit 15th on 61 points - 11 points worse off than they were after all 46 games in 23/24.

One crumb of comfort this weekend, however, is that the Manx side are unbeaten in three meetings at The Bowl against their latest opposition.

Elsewhere, having mathematically secured their place in the NWCFL Premier Division promotion play-offs last weekend, West Didsbury & Chorlton head to the Island in strong form.

Paul Marshall's side are on a run of three straight wins and have lost just twice in their last ten in the league.

There's further incentive for 'West' this weekend as they could move up one place to fourth should they win on Saturday and Padiham lose at Stockport Town.

FC Isle of Man vs West Didsbury & Chorlton will take place this Saturday, 19 April, at The Bowl in Douglas with kick-off at 6pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
