Ravens take on high-flyers after no win in last seven games

Still trying to end their longest winless streak of the season, FC Isle of Man could end up playing a role in the NWCFL Premier Division title race this weekend.

On the hunt for their first win in eight, 'The Ravens' welcome high-flying Lower Breck who sit second in the standings and just three points behind leaders Bury going into Saturday's latest fixtures.

FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones is under no illusions as to how difficult tomorrow evening's opponents will be.

But he feels it could be just the tonic his players need to raise their game in the final month of the campaign:

Whilst the Manx side are one of only three sides in the division to not register a win in their last six outings, they have only lost twice in their last eight games with the other six being draws.

They remain tenth in the standings on 61 points and could go as high as eighth if they were to claim a substantial win this Saturday and results elsewhere go their way.

Elsewhere, after a formidable season to date, Lower Breck show no signs of slowing up in their relentless pursuit of both the NWCFL Premier Division title and promotion.

The statistics make for impressive reading - they've amassed 94 points so far and reside only three points off the pace of current league leaders Bury.

They've tasted defeat in the league just once in nearly five months and in their last ten games in all competitions have hit the net 35 times.

Despite the stark contrast in the form of both teams this weekend, it is in fact FC Isle of Man that have the slight edge in the head-to-head records of both sides.

'The Ravens' have won three of their six meetings to date with Lower Breck whilst the Liverpool-based outfit have two wins with just the solitary draw between them.

FC Isle of Man vs Lower Breck takes place this Saturday at The Bowl in Douglas, kicking-off at 6pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
