FC Isle of Man seal comeback victory at Litherland

Quickfire Doyle double gets Ravens back to winning ways

A quickfire Sean Doyle double saw FC Isle of Man recover from an early setback to beat Litherland REMYCA 2-1 in the NWCFL Premier Division this afternoon (17 August).

Coming in to today's contest following back-to-back defeats, the Manx side suffered a poor start as Litherland took the lead in the tenth minute thanks to James Hammill's close range strike.

But the Island outfit rallied back with Doyle prodding a shot into the net from point-blank in the 26th minute before slotting home from a Ste Whitley pass one-on-one two minutes later.

The result marks FC Isle of Man's second win from their opening five league matches.

Meanwhile, defeat for Litherland REMYCA means the Merseyside team are still searching for their first league victory of the latest campaign.

FC Isle of Man's next match will be away against Charnock Richard next Saturday (24 August) at Mossie Park, kicking-off at 3pm.
