Ravens hoping to be more ruthless at Burscough

FC Isle of Man head out on the road this weekend for the final time this season in the NWCFL Premier Division.

The Manx side travel to Burscough in their last away outing before eight straight home games between now and the end of the campaign in mid-April.

'The Ravens' are hoping to find another gear after a frustrating fortnight in which they've been held to back-to-back home draws against Barnoldswick Town and Colne.

FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones agrees his side has to be more clinical in front of goal, but feels they aren't far away from achieving that:

With nine games still to play and sitting ninth in the standings, FC Isle of Man are still nine points adrift of the promotion play-off spots but with a game in hand on three teams immediately above them.

The last time they met their latest hosts at The Bowl the Islanders fought back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 victory.

Meanwhile - having just avoided relegation last term - Burscough are enjoying a much steadier campaign so far.

Their current points haul of 45 points sees them 20 points clear of the relegation zone and sitting 17th in the table.

David Dempsey's side have only lost one of their last four, with two wins, one draw and one defeat in that period.

Matches between Burscough and FC Isle of Man have seen plenty of goalmouth action over the last few years with no fewer than 32 goals across the five meetings to date between the two.

Burscough vs FC Isle of Man takes place tomorrow at The Community Ground, kicking-off at 1.30pm.
