Ravens on longest run of their season so far without a victory

With just five games to go this season, FC Isle of Man head into the weekend looking to end a bleak run of six matches without a victory.

'The Ravens' once again face a side battling to avoid the drop with South Liverpool the latest visitors to The Bowl on Saturday evening (22 March).

After a grueling double-header for his side last weekend, FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones seemed to indicate his squad is maybe feeling the 'tiring' effects of a 46-game season.

However, going into this latest test without any home wins against the bottom four this campaign, Jones insists there's no issue with his players' work ethic and desire:

Having taken two points from a possible six in a demanding double-header last time out, FC Isle of Man will know they have an opportunity to both end their recent barren form and climb the table once more if they take maximum points.

They sit 10th in the table on 60 points after 41 matches - a win tomorrow could see them move up as many two places should other results elsewhere also go their way.

The only meeting between the Manx side and their Merseyside visitors so far was in the reverse fixture on 18 September where a Ste Whitley double helped the Islanders to a 2-0 win.

For South Liverpool it's been a challenging campaign so far since promotion into the NWCFL Premier Division last season - they reside 20th in the standings on 36 points - eight clear of the drop zone currently.

This month has seen an important upturn in results for Martin Ryman's side with his team having lost only one of their last four with two victories and a draw also on the board in that time.

FC Isle of Man vs South Liverpool takes place at The Bowl in Douglas on Saturday (22 March), kicking-off at 6pm.
