FC IoM looking for fourth straight win at West Didsbury & Chorlton

But Ravens have struggled on last three visits to the Step Places Stadium

FC Isle of Man return to action across the water this weekend hoping to break their poor away record against their latest opponents.

'The Ravens' travel to take on West Didsbury & Chorlton in the NWCFL Premier Division on Saturday (21 September) with the Manx side yet to take any points at the Step Places Stadium in their last three attempts.

However the Island squad come into this clash with four wins from their last five outings and unbeaten in their last six.

Manager Paul Jones admits tomorrow afternoon's test will be as tough as it's been there previously but is once again optimistic they can emerge with a positive result:

FC Isle of Man's strong September form has elevated them back into contention for the promotion play-off spots at this stage - they sit eighth in the table and knowing a first victory at Brookburn Road could take them as a high as fourth should other results go their way as well.

But M21 has not been a happy hunting ground with all three previous visits by Paul Jones' side ending in defeat with the latest of those being a 2-1 loss to their hosts on 14 October, 2023.

Elsewhere, Paul Marshall's West Didsbury & Chorlton head into Saturday's meeting 18th in the table on 12 points, however - due to cup commitments elsewhere in recent weeks - they've only played eight league matches so far meaning they have multiple games in hand and have played the fewest league contests of any side in the division so far.

Their last two outings have been in cup competitions - last weekend (14 September) they put in an impressive performance as they only narrowly lost out 2-1 at home to National League North side Darlington in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round - the first time in the club's history they'd reached that stage of the competition.

That was followed by a penalty shootout defeat at home to Atherton Collieries in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy on Tuesday (17 September).

However, they took victories in their last two league matches against Longridge Town and South Liverpool on 7 September and 10 September respectively.

West Didsbury & Chorlton vs FC Isle of Man will get underway tomorrow at the Step Places Stadium at 3pm.
