Equestrian: Yasmin Ingham in Team GB squad for 2024 Olympics

Greeba rider named in eventing team heading to Paris

Manx equestrian competitor Yasmin Ingham has been selected for the Great Britain squad heading to this summer's Olympic Games in Paris.

The rider from Greeba is one of four riders selected in the eventing team alongside Rosalind Canter, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen.

Ingham will by riding horse Banzai du Loir - the same horse on which she became world eventing champion back in 2022.

In total, 16 individuals make up the GB Equestrian squad with four other athletes each in both the showjumping and dressage categories.

The eventing team heads to France looking to defend the Olympic title it claimed in Tokyo in 2021.

Both Collett and McEwen were part of that team three years ago with Canter as a travelling reserve - she and Ingham will be hoping to make their first Olympic appearances next month.

Team GB Chef de Mission Mark England says:

"A huge congratulations to all the athletes, grooms, and horse owners named today as we select the three squads of equestrian riders that will travel to Paris to compete for Team GB.

“There is an incredible wealth of experience across all three disciplines, with some athletes set to compete at their fourth, fifth and seventh Olympic Games this summer, which will undoubtedly stand them in good stead in Paris. I look forward to watching them compete at the historic Palace of Versailles in a months’ time.”

The equestrian competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held at the Palace of Versailles between 27 July and 6 August.
