Douglas B topple Vikings in Manx Shield

Wins also for Ramsey and Southern Nomads

Douglas B knocked Western Vikings off the top of the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield table with a 46-0 win at QEII High School.

Josh Carine was the star for Douglas with four tries and a conversion to remind the Port-e-Chee first team selectors that he’s on form.

Dave Sherwin ran in two and there were single scores from Andrew Colley and Conor McCaughan.

At the Mooragh Park, Ramsey beat Castletown 53-5.

Craig Long was the form man for Ramsey with four tries with supporting scores from Kev Skelly, Jarod May, Juan Callister, Stevie Cleator and Jordan Walsh.

Youngster Jack Caine kicked four conversions.

Castletown veteran Dave Emmett marked his first game in eight years with a try.

With Southern Nomads game against Vagabonds B postponed, there was a slight reshuffle of the fixture list and Southern Nomads played Emerging Nomads, winning 53-10 at King William’s College.

Dan Bridle grabbed a hat-trick of tries for Southern, Rob Craine picked up two and there were also tries from Gerard Landels, Leon Landels, Harry Catlow and Josh Samuels.

Skipper Mark Young added four conversions.

For Emerging Nomads, Orry Watterson picked up yet another try with Bailey Daniels converting and adding a penalty.
