Bradley, Lane and Kelly all into today's knockout matches

A trio of Isle of Man darts players impressed to progress on the first day of the 2024 WDF World Masters event in Hungary yesterday (9 October).

During Wednesday's group stage events, Aaron Bradley and Kevin Lane qualified for the men's knockout phase whilst Margaret Kelly moved onto the women's knockout tournament.

Both Bradley and Lane won three of their four group games - with Bradley topping his group - whilst Kelly was victorious in two of her three.

Seven other Island competitors were in action on day one - Robbie Nelson and Robbie Lawson in the men's and Jessica Corlett, Sophie Moore, Nicola Libreri-Lane, Sarah Corkill and Janet Bailey - who didn't pass the group phase.

In the women's, Kelly will begin Thursday with a preliminary round match against Croatia's Marina Letica.

Meanwhile in the men's finals preliminary round getting underway Bradley will take on Pavel Jirkal of Czechia whilst Lane faces Finland's Jani Keskinarkaus.

The event as a whole is running until Sunday (13 October).
